PART 2 in Bear Lincoln’s ‘Meet the Engineer’ Series: Meet Piper “No Gain No Pain” Payne.

WHO SHE IS: Piper can make even the most poorly recorded Rebecca Black/William Hung collab sound like solid gold. That’s because Piper Payne is a bonafide MASTERING engineer. She has worked with our buddies Tumbleweed Wanderers, Psychic Twin, D. Edward and many more.

WHAT IS MASTERING: The art of perfecting a skill to perfection, one can master many things. Martial Arts, the art of blending in, or the cooking of a tip-top roast or eggplant. All you need to do is put in 10,000,000 hours of hard work and BAM! You’re a master.

WHY WE TOLD YOU THIS: Piper is mastering the upcoming Bear Lincoln record.

Seriously Piper, thank you for mastering our record. We are too young of grasshoppers to master it ourselves.

New tunes! Coming soon. We promise.

FRIENDS of Bear Lincoln:
Meet Mr. Scott McDowell

WHO HE IS: Not only a bonafide umbrella-sharer, Scott is also a professional recording and MIXING engineer. He has worked with the California Honeydrops, Whiskerman, Geographer, Diana Gameros, The Stone Foxes, Goodnight Texas and many more.

WHAT IS MIXING: Similar to blending, mixing is the process of churning audio files with a large wooden spoon over a low boil until they sound just right.

WHY WE TOLD YOU THIS: He is mixing the upcoming Bear Lincoln record.

Scott, don’t forget to wear a hairnet and safety gloves while mixing in there- it’s the law!

Seriously though we are humbled/honored/thrilled/thankful to be working with you.

New tunes! Coming soon.
